› BRC Midsummer Ladies Challenge Aug 21

A few BRC  ladies have decided to have a special day on August 21st.
That is the day of the Midsummer Nights Run in the beach AND the Island Girl 10k on our Toronto Island

10K in the morning and 15 or 30K at night (nap in the afternoon?).
Who is up to the challenge????
I am going to do it and it was Sari's idea, so I know she is going to do it.
For those who have not particpated in these races, first hand I can tell you that the Midsummer Nights Run has a beer tent at the end and the Island Girl run has been rumoured to have great race kits with makeup and girlie things.

We will have a draw for the ladies who do both races to win a Fabulous Prize!

I'm already registered for the 30k MSNR, so what's another 10k in the morning...  Great idea, love it!
And girlie race kit stuff...does it get any better..?

Hi there,
What a great idea!  I am one of the Race Directors for the Island Girl Series and after hearing from many expo-goers (ATB expo in March and Mississauga Marathon this past weekend) that this is a significant conflict given the popularity of both races, I started suggesting that  runners consider both!   We'll make sure we make an announcement at Island Girl 10K to acknowledge those doing both.
We did have fabulous race kits last year, courtesy of our charitable partner, however we have changed charities and won't have the same great girlie goodies :(

We would LOVE to contribute to your draw for the ladies doing both races.  Let us know how we can contribute and encourage your club to participate in both races.  It's a super idea for the super-motivated!!

C'mon ladies, who's in, 10k + 30k is still ess than a marathon AND you have half a day to rest and recover. 10k + 15k is just beyond half marathon and yes, the rest between. Sounds like fun. Maybe a fewof us guys will have to suit up in wigs and sneak in to the Island run ;)

I think all of the guys should come out and cheer us on! I'm hoping to convince all of
the ladies to wear grass skirts. (Coconut bras are optional)
I'll be running the 15K that night. Looks like it's going to be a fun day!

You girls are CRAZY....but why not, I'm in! I've already registered for the Island Girl 10k (it was a great race last year), so will register for the 15k Midsummer Nights Run-- they do have nice technical shirts!

Sweet!!! I've already registered for the 10k and was contemplating the 15k so I guess this is the extra push I needed!! Guess that means I'll be hopping on my bike the next morning to take the half clinic out for their 16k!! Can we get the boys in grass skirts too?
