Hi Everyone,

We are running this coming Saturday morning July 10th  in the Beaches.  More details listed below.

Remember that on July 17th we will be having our Achilles/Beaches Running Club fun 5 and 10K run followed by a picnic.  Please let me know if you plan to attend so that we will have enough food and drinks for everyone.  As well, please consider making a $5 donation towards our costs of putting on the picnic.  Thank you!

Team Achilles has now been officially listed with the Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge. Right now we a have a team of 25+ runners and we would love to have you join our team if you have not already registered for the events.  Full $45, Half $35 and 5K $20.  Now put your  50% saving on the entry fees toward to your fundraising goals for Achilles.  If you have already registered, we can also get you moved as an individual to join Team Achilles.  Just let us know and we will make the changes for you.  The race date is Sunday, September 26th.  Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Remember 8:30 am Start, we all need to be mindful that we really need to get our run started by 8:30 am Sharp! or as soon after the next TTC bus comes by.  So be sure to get yourself down there on time to run.  Now that we have been affiliating ourselves with the new Beach Running Club and the atmosphere and numbers have been Fantastic! we need to be respectful of everyone time to get started on time (8:30 am) so that we can achieve our run and still have the rest of Saturday in front us to catch up with family and friends.  Thank you.  Brian

Upcoming Events:

Now that Spring is here, we are back running in the Beaches  - Saturday Morning Runs 8:30 am Start - hosted weekly by Achilles starting under the Parkette right in front of the last TTC bus stop loop located at 1675 Lakeshore Blvd. East which is Woodbine Beach Park situated between Coxwell and Woodbine Ave.  Turn South at the Northern Dancer Road intersection into the parking lot.  Look for our Achilles banner hanging from the parkette.

TTC Directions:  From Woodbine subway station take the # 92 Woodbine South bus.  The bus stop is right in front of our meeting place at the Parkette.  It is the last stop on the route, so you can't miss us.  The bus runs approximately every 6 minutes.

Choose between a 4K, 11K and now a 16K route, depending on how you feel or what your training plan calls for.  Be sure to tell your friends about Achilles and ask them to join us for a morning of running and friendship.  Post run coffee at Starbucks on Queen St. East just West of Woodbine Ave.

Great idea to cross-post this Achilles newsletter. If possible, the club (ok: I mean Dave) should cross-post them all the time.

I want to come out to volunteer with the run on the 17th. May have my 3 year old son in tow, so I'll have at least one hand free to help out.

Saw you all out on last Saturday morning group run, headed west along lakeshore to Leslie. Me and the family were headed out of town for the w/e. A part of me really wanted to be out there with you.

I'm interested in donating $50 to an Achilles member who is fundraising as part of doing a Scotiabank Toronto event. Send me an email or chat me up on Sunday's group run, or whenever.
