Thanks for this, Duff. Sounds like a neat idea.

As you point out, BRC runners would have to register/pay for the marathon separately.

The price rate breakdown for the marathon is (as per Flying Pig site):
$70 through December 31
$85 through April 4
$100 through April 18
$100 at Expo

The half is:
$60 through December 31
$75 through April 4
$90 through April 18
$90 at Expo

As ever, the sooner one signs up, the cheaper the rate.

This sounds like such an amazing idea. It would be great see a large group of BRC members all running in the same non-Toronto marathon race weekend. So far I’m in. I would vote for the Millennium hotel - as it is closer to the start/finish area and right across the street from the race expo (if the location stays the same as in 2010). I have stayed at a host hotel before and loved the vibe/energy pre and post race.

Who would have thought you are planning a marathon 7 months in advance?
The registration for  the races goes up Dec 31.
I am still finalizing the prices and will post soon.
Pass this race  information on to all the non BRC runners.
Depending on the response, will also be posting to other Running Room stores, and running clubs, to make sure we get the price, and the hotel and the bus full.

Stay tuned.

NOTE to Ian. the Millenium charges to park the bus. The Holiday Inn (besides being a bit less and has free bus parking) and is only 1.6 miles from the start provides a shuttle and has a marathon breakfast for the early riseres

Are there any tours of famous WKRP in Cincinnati sites?...."As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."

Good with either hotel although maybe we could look in to the Millennium and how much they would charge to park the bus.
Road Trip!

I was just looking at some of the photos archived at the flyingpigmarathon.com. Guess what runners cross at the end--the finish swine.

I love it!
