Hi Runners!

Are you ready for an exciting 2012?

There's lots to read here - please do so!

OK, I know it's been a month since the new year started but it's busy around the BRC Headquarters and I have failed miserable to communicate with you all this year! Anyway, we're here and it's now and we're looking forward to seeing you all out on the roads and perhaps in the comfy confines somewhere in the Beach for a Winter Social. See below for tentative details.

We need to do a little housekeeping - Something that is a must do at this time of the year.

First off, the good news is that I am happy to remind you, that membership renewal fees are not required. Our expenses are low and the new member fees are enough to keep the club going. If ever there is a need for funds, we may just have to have a fund raiser or something of that sort but for now, you're all off the hook for renewal fees!

The For those of you who joined Athletics Ontario previously, we are not enforcing you renew. There are some good events for racing, especially for Masters, but if you do not plan on running any of these events, there is no need to renew. If you do in fact want to renew for racing in AO events purposes, and for those of you whom are newer members and wish to join Athletics Ontario for the first time, get in touch with me and I will guide you through the process.

Beaches Runners Club Website and Members Forum

Be sure to visit regularly, share your thoughts on running, ask questions, join in the conversation. We are a like minded group of people but lately the Forum has been rather quiet.

In particular, visit this post and share with us your plans and goals (resolutions?) for 2012.

Let's try to get some more group runs going this year as well!

Speaking of Group Runs, aside from our regular BRC members showing for the Wednesday and Sunday runs out of the Running Room, we're also looking to get together for another Group Run To The Lighthouse. The proposed date is Thursday February 16th. More info will be sent out soon - but put that date on your calendar for now.

BRC - Winter Social Night

We would love to get the whole gang together for a club social. The best way for this to happen is by getting some feedback as to when and where this can go down. So I implore you to visit the BRC Forum Post regarding the Winter Social here - http://www.beachesrunners.com/forum/detail/3263

Possible Date: Saturday February 11th - 7pm
