First of all, congratultions to all who ran. What a fantastic day for a run and I love the route as you can see all those you know along the way. (you can also see those who are creeping up on you!)
Achilles is a wonderul organisation and I recommend "Guiding" a Runner to all, I have gotten so much out of guiding and really puts into perspective how we all take things for granted.
Richard from Achilles spoke at the awards ceremony and thanked our own Duff and the rest of the volunteers for making it a possibility for him to run 18 marathons!
Congratulations to Julie/Krista/Ginny's group who put in 14 first to get their long run in for Around the Bay!!
After spending the most wonderful week in Punta Cana with the family I was a bit worried about even completing a 5K.
As per usual I am battling glute/hammy issues. I had an okay run at 30:52, not a PB but decent for me lately.
My boys did well with Cammy not having any runs under his belt running a full 10 minutes faster than his old mom!
Dave had a PB at 19:25 and enjoyed a faster time than Cam ( I know Cam has a goal to better him in Boston!)
It is the 2nd time doing this race and I loved it, the chili and beer are a nice touch and Cam and I stayed around and watched the Irish band play which was really enjoyable.
I saw Jim out there on the course and after his scare of last year, glad to see he slayed the dragon and got back on that horse!!
How did everyone else do? Any PB's? Stories to share?
Next up for me is Spring Sprint--going for 28:16 or better for a PB!
Take care
Anita
